As O2 Germany already revealed 01. September with the latest shop flyer, today the German carrier also followed with the press release.
So yes, as expected the Xda mini S is the HTC Wizard which comes with Windows Mobile 5.0 and the sliding keyboard (to be used in landscape mode instead the portrait mode as used for the O2 Xda III/IIs.

As we already knew, the Wizard (aka O2 Xda mini S) will include quad-band GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth 1.2, Wifi b (11 Mbits) and the good old IrDA. It's powered by a (ARM compatible) TI OMAP CPU with 200 MHz.

With an O2 Active 100 24 month contract, the Xda mini S will costs 249,99 Euro, without a contract it will be something around 499 Euro but this wasn't confirmed by the carrier yet. A release date wasn't given but can be expected for something around October.
Last but not least, neither O2 UK nor O2 Ireland has announced anything similar.

Cheers ~ Arne
