The Global Certification Forum (GCF) recently approved the Huawei Ideos U8150-B, Huawei's next Android smartphone which is said to be released with Android 2.2. While the overall specs indicate an entry-level smartphone, the device is said to feature quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as quadband UMTS/HSDPA at 850/1700/1900/2100 MHz which is quite impressive and also indicates a North American launch at AT&T and T-Mobile. According to earlier information, the U8150 is also expected to feature WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, a digital compass and a proximity sensor. The QVGA touchscreen is said to measure 2.8" while the camera is expected to support 3.2 megapixel.
The Huawei Ideos is expected to measure 104 × 54.8 × 13.5 mm and features a 1200 mAh battery. It's said to come with 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM which can be expanded with microSD memory cards.
A release date is yet not given but Clove Technology has spilled the beans last week that it should be available soon for something around £169.36 (excluding VAT). However the information were removed after but are still available through Google Cache.
