Right in time for this week's announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) has just approved Samsung's first Android slate tablet which Samsung unveiled earlier last week. While the teaser video confirmed that the Galaxy Tab will feature Android 2.2 and a 7" (most likely capacitive) touchscreen, Samsung hasn't given any further information yet but will officially introduce the Galaxy Tab at its IFA press event on Thursday in Berlin. However, the GCF has now approved the Samsung Galaxy Tab/GT-P1000 and confirms that it's featuring quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/1900/2100 MHz.
While Samsung hasn't given any further information yet, when the Galaxy Tab might be launched (but will most likely do this at its press conference), the recent GCF approval might indicate that a launch is imminent.
Cheers ~ Arne
