Earlier this week, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) has approved the Sony Ericsson E10i and E10a, two Android smartphones which will hit the market later this summer under its commercial name Xperia X10 mini. According to the GCF, the Xperia X10 mini will be available in two flavors: the E10i for Europe, which will support quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz, and the E10a for North America, which will support quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz.

As always, the GCF hasn't given any further information but since Vodafone UK has already announced an upcoming launch of the Xperia X10 mini, it shouldn't take too long anymore to see Sony Ericsson's second Android smartphone in selected markets soon.

Cheers ~ Arne
