Following Toshiba's K01 Mobile World Congress announcement last week, the Global Certification Forum just approved Toshiba's latest Windows Mobile smartphone. Unlike its new sister-device - the TG02 (and its forerunner - the TG01) - the Toshiba K01 features a slide-out keyboard. Definitely not designed for North America but Europe and Asia only, the Toshiba K01 features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz. The K01 offers Toshiba's first-ever Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) capacitive 4.1" WVGA touchscreen - providing bright color, contrast, lower power consumption and faster response times than ever before.
The K01 also features super-slim design, measuring 12.9 mm front to back, making each handset portable and stylish in equal measure. The K01 also features a Qualcomm 1 GHz processer and storage can be expanded up to 32GB using microSDHC cards, allowing users to store their favorite movies, music and games with plenty of room to spare.
While Toshiba hasn't announced any launch plans during last week's Mobile World Congress, the device seems to be pretty close to be launch-ready now.
Cheers ~ Arne
