Officially announced back in October, AT&T Wireless now released the Samsung BlackJack II (aka Samsung SGH-i617), a sleek, smart and simple Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone which features quadband GSM/EDGE/GPRS, triband 3G UMTS/HSDPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. Furthermore, the BlackJack II features built-in GPS, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video-capture capabilities and 256 MB ROM / 128 MB RAM which can be increased using microSD memory cards up to 4 GB memory.

The powerful and performance-driven BlackJack II, which is now available in slick black and red wine color from early December, furthermore features a full QWERTY keyboard, large 2.4" QVGA color display and a front jog wheel to elevate productivity and improve the mobile experience:

The BlackJack II is available now exclusively from AT&T. With a 24 months contract and mail-in rebate, it costs US$ 149.99; without a contract it's available for US$ 399.99.
A release outside the U.S. is yet undetermined.

UPDATE: The Boy Genius Report got its hands on a brand new BlackJack II and has posted a couple of photos on its site. Compared to the original BlackJack the BlackJack II design isn't groundbreaking but the GSM and UMTS-band upgrade is worth the new device anyway.

Cheers ~ Arne
