Earlier this week, HTC announced its new certification program called "HTC Connect" and the first product just hit the web. Not a surprise at all, it's coming from Pioneer and its a set of wireless speakers of the A-series. Available as A1, A3 and A4, the A-series speaker are HTC Connect, WiFi and DLNA certified. HTC One series phones, which will receive a HTC Connect update later, will be able to wirelessly stream favorite music straight to the speakers. There's no need for a separate app because with the later released update, HTC Connect will be built right into the HTC One's music player. Maybe the most interesting Pioneer A-series wireless speaker is the A3 XW-SMA3-K which runs on batteries.
The A3 comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and is also AirPlay ready as well as it allows connection via USB for both - playback and charging.
The A3 is designed specifically for outdoor use with covered ports and a scratch-resistant matte finish.
Sure, such a technology has its price and the A3 retails for around US$ 429 while the A1 is a little bit cheaper but not mobile with US$ 329. The high-end version, the A4 retails for around US$ 429.
Cheers ~ Arne
