As Jolla unveiled during today's Slush 13 conference in Helsinki, the company's first Sailfish OS-based smartphone (which has still no official name, as far as I know) will be first sold in DNA pop-up stores in Finland, starting November 27. Roughly one year ago, DNA and Jolla announced the first carrier partnership which included that DNA Store and other DNA sales channels will sell and market Jolla smartphones in Finland as soon as they enter the market. The upcoming Jolla smartphones use an open Sailfish operating system which is based on the well-known MeeGo operating system. DNA is a Finnish telecommunications company which proves a 3G network which reaches five million Finns and has more than 3 million mobile communications and fixed network customer contracts.
Jolla has yet not made an announcement when it will ship the first batch of its Sailfish OS smartphone, interested parties were able to preorder in spring. But in a tweet to me, Jolla confirmed yesterday again, that "first shipments starting this year".
