A chart with announcement and release dates on Sony Ericsson's own web server indicates that the recently announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA  X1, Sony Ericsson's first Windows Mobile smartphone, is already delayed until February 10th 2009. This is exactly one year after it was first presented in Barcelona and would speak for a release on next year's Mobile World Congress.
On the other hand I have serious doubts that that this is the real release date but a typo or a placeholder only, because Sony Ericsson has unofficially spoken of a release in the late second half 2008 which seems to be more reasonable:

No further information available yet but in Barcelona we've heard that Sony Ericsson is already in talks with mobile operators about an upcoming release and I doubt carriers have the time to talk about a device which is released in 11 months.

UPDATE: The Unofficial Sony Ericsson blog got new information regarding the XPERIA X1 delay: "I can confirm that we will be launching the X1 product in 2nd Half of 2008, as per our announcement of 10th February that we made in Barcelona", said Aldo Liguori, who is the Corporate Vice President of the Global Communications and PR department at Sony Ericsson.

Cheers ~ Arne
