This morning, Finnish smartphone manufacturer Jolla announced via Facebook that it's finally accepting public orders of its first Sailfish OS-based smartphone, the Jolla 1, by opening its online store for all residents of Europe - or more precisely opening it for for all residents of the EU, Norway and Switzerland (if you are not sure if you are living within the EU - because I saw questions what about certain countries - check Wikipedia here). Initially, Jolla will have the Jolla smartphone in store, which comes with the white "The Other Half" (which is the battery cover). Other items, such as other halves and batteries, are said to be included at a later stage.
The Jolla 1 is now on sale for 399 Euro, plus VAT and shipping costs, which vary by country. Estimated delivery time is 3-4 weeks so earliest arrivals can be expected mid January. Other countries and regions of the world, like North America, India, Far East or South America are yet out of luck since Jolla is currently shipping within Europe only.
If you are interested in Jolla's first smartphone but you don't know what it's all about, don't forget to check-out our photoview from earlier this week.
