Wow, it really looks like that this was overseen so far but Kevin Turner, Microsoft Chief Operating Officer, unveiled at recent presentation, that Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 might hit Europe anytime in October and the U.S. anytime in November. In his presentation, Turner said: "Now let's talk about phones. This is been tough. This is a low-light, for me, for the company, it's tough! But you know what? In the October-timeframe, in the November-timeframe - October likely across Europe, November likely across the U.S. - again we are back in this game! And this game is not over, ok? [...] When you look at this phone, it's not like any phone you've ever seen from Microsoft, and Ladies and Gentlemen I think that's a good thing".
Definitely an interesting piece of information. So far it was only confirmed that Windows Phone 7 will be available for the holiday season (aka Christmas) and for sure a Christmas launch means a store availability at least 2 month ahead. However, even more interesting is the fact that Windows Phone 7 seems to land in Europe first!
However, according to earlier information, it's known that Windows Phone 7 will initially support support 5 languages: English, French, German Italian and Spanish while the Windows Phone Marketplace will be available in 17 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and United States which are - most likely the initial launch-countries. Therefore it can be expected that an Asia/Pacific launch might follow the European and North American availability.
