Announced during this year's 3GSM World Congress, BT's Office Anywhere is now available to UK customers. With BT Office Anywhere BT offers UK customers Mobile VoIP services on Windows Mobile powered smartphones and the first which becomes available now is a tailored HTC S620 (aka HTC Excalibur) Windows Mobile Smartphone. The combination of BT's strength in wireless broadband networks and services, Microsoft's Windows Mobile software and HTC's strength in devices gives customers the power to choose how they stay connected while on the go:

BT's Office Anywhere brings you a big advance in multifunctional technology. With a BT Office Anywhere handset you can work as effectively when you're out and about as you can at your desk. Office Anywhere brings you advanced phone and data services using a single device. You have real-time access to E-Mail, calendar, contacts and documents.
A single cost-effective subscription gives you inclusive mobile minutes, inclusive data allowance, and you can make unlimited hour-long VoIP calls to UK landlines from office, private or public WiFi hotspots at no extra charge since the tailor made S620 includes a VoIP client!

And - best of all - according to BT's Office Anywhere site, you get the HTC S620 for free, if you apply for a 24 month BT Office Anywhere package. However, even if it was announced as a Windows Mobile 6 S620, the current offer seems to sport Windows Mobile 5 only and it's unknown if a (free) upgrade will become later this year.

Cheers ~ Arne
