Qwest Wireless yesterday launched the Qwest Fusion HTC 5800 which is the CDMA version of the HTC VOX (HTC S710) which is code-named HTC Libra and also known as HTC S720. With the launch of the "Fusion", Qwest Wireless beats Verizon Wireless, which was expected to launch the device as the first in the US. The HTC S720 is a small candy-bar style smartphone with a numeric keypad on the front and slide-out QWERTY keyboard underneath featuring Windows Mobile 6 Standard a 2 megapixel camera and MicroSD slot. Looks like the S720 got WiFi removed, unfortunately:

The Qwest Fusion HTC 5800 is now available from Qwest Wireless for US$ 199.99 (with a contract). Not a bad price for a definitely good phone (even if I've tested and reviewed the GSM version only).

Cheers ~ Arne
