Not
yet official announced by Sprint or Palm, Sprint already started to sell Palm's
latest Windows Mobile smartphone, the Treo 800w through its web site.
The Palm Treo 800w,
which leaked earlier already, is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1
Professional OS and supports Sprint's CDMA 800 and 1900 networks as well as EVDO
Rev A and 1XRTT. Furthermore, and this makes the Treo 800w quite unique, it's
Palm's first smartphone with inbuilt WiFi (802.11b/g) support. Last but not
least even IrDA as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS are onboard. Furthermore,
the Treo 800w includes a 2.0 megapixel camera with 2x zoom and sports 256 MB of
RAM and 128 MB of ROM which can be extended using microSD cards.


The TFT touchscreen shows the Windows Mobile typical 65K colors and features
a resolution of 320 x 320 pixel. At a size of 112 x 58 x 18.5 mm, the smartphone
weights 140 grams.
The Palm Treo 800w is now available from Sprint for a regular price of US$
599.99. With a new 24 months contract, instant savings and mail-in rebate, it's
available for US$ 249.99.
