It took a little bit longer but this was known already. However, now Symantec finally announced the launch of its previously announced Norton Smartphone Security, a mobile security suite to provide a solution for both Windows Mobile and Symbian OS smartphones.
The product is said to offer Norton antivirus technology as well as a firewall and antispam for SMS. While SMS antispam blocks text and multimedia messages from unknown senders, the firewall controls both inbound and outbound network traffic on the smartphone

Norton Smartphone Security supports devices running either Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6 as well as Symbian S60 v3 and UIQ 3.0 smartphones. It's now available as a subscription-based offering and retails for US$ 29.99.

Cheers ~ Arne
