We have just released the beta version of VoiceContact for PocketPC Phone Edition. This is a voice-enabled dialing application for commands such as "Call Bob Smith", or "Dial 1234567". If you would like to help test this software, please visit

BCL VoiceContact for PocketPC Phone Edition lets you dial numbers by simply speaking digits, or you can use your voice to access and call anyone in your contact list. The cool thing about VoiceContact is that it is completely integrated into Pocket PC: Press the activation button at any time, and the Pocket PC notification window appears showing what you can say. Even better, it’s ready to use right out of the box: no training is necessary for any of the commands, and hard to pronounce names in the address book can be easily assigned a nickname with a simple tap-and-hold.

System Requirements:

  • PocketPC Phone Edition utilizing ARM processor (e.g. T-Mobile Pocket PC and AT&T Wireless SX56)
  • 4 MB of memory space
  • Optional: External earphone & speaker

Tips on Using VoiceContact

  • BCL VoiceContact can tolerate reasonable amount of noise (e.g. engine and road noises while driving). For best result, use it in relatively noise-free environment. If the command is not recognized, repeat the process.

they got some work to do if they'll want to compete with Fonix. I installed the beta and right away it didn't work to well. I couldn't get one contact to pull correctly while testing it. While on the other hand, fonix voicedial worked right out of the box with absolutely no issues. Another distracting feature is that the icon stays present in the notification tray at all times.

I know this is just a beta, but to be a public beta is this form is not good.
