December 9, 2002 - Spb Software House, a developer of Pocket PC software, announced today the availability of Spb GPRS Monitor 2.0 Beta - a unique utility for measuring your GPRS connection speed and calculating total bandwidth used (and the associated costs).
The first version of Spb GPRS Monitor had been long awaited by Pocket PC users and has received a great deal of positive feedback. Following the success of the first version of Spb GPRS Monitor, Spb Software House decided to add the functionality the users have been asking for, thus developing an even better second version of Spb GPRS Monitor.
With Spb GPRS Monitor, users with wirelessly connected Pocket PCs have the ability to know all the details about their network connection and save money on their GPRS or cellular connection. Spb GPRS Monitor logs all GPRS traffic and reports data transfer amounts and costs over a certain period of time; it logs daily/monthly/yearly data transfer amounts, compares the collected data against pre-defined tariff rates and performs some other activities that help you to maintain your wireless account. Users will have more control over their wireless connection than ever before - and save money while doing so.
The new version also adds new functionality to the software. The forthcoming Spb GPRS Monitor 2.0 will give mobile enthusiasts ability to monitor several network connection simultaneously - the software will automatically detect which connection is being used and switch to the corresponding profile. The new version of Spb GPRS Monitor also includes more flexible tariff settings - now almost every detail of any rate plan can be defined.
Version 2.0 of Spb GPRS Monitor is also very customizable - users can now control what information they want to see on the Today page and in the taskbar icon. Another major point of version 2 is localization - the official release will be available in all the major languages. Localization packs for other languages will appear shortly after the final release.
The beta version of Spb GPRS Monitor 2.0 is available for free evaluation. All user feedback, bug reports, and feature requests are greatly appreciated. The Spb Software House team welcomes such feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cheers ~ Arne
