The good news is that Jay Sullivan, Mozillas' Vice President of Mobile, recently confirmed that Mozilla is aiming to have a release candidate version of its first mobile browser - Firefox Mobile (previously known as Fennec, after as Pocketfox) out next week and that a final version is due to hit the market in the next few weeks. The bad news is that Firefox Mobile will initially only be available for the Nokia Maemo powered N900, not for Microsoft's Windows Mobile or Google Android smartphones, as annouced earlier. Nevertheless, Mozilla still aiming to to bring the browser to Windows phones and Android smartphones in the future, even if no date was given yet.

Initially, Firefox Mobile will have many features such as geolocation support with more features to follow in 2010.

Cheers ~ Arne

Idiots! Who cares about Maemo? It's just one smartphone. If Windows Mobile is the price to get it for Android, for God's sake do it but Maemo? What a fail! It's like releasing Firefox for OS/2 first.
