Today, O2 Germany announced via Twitter, that Palm has released a webOS 1.4.1 patch for recently updated Palm Pre webOS smartphones. Carrying the same version number, the 1 MB small patch is said to fix problems with the Palm App Catalog. While the initial webOS 1.4.1 update enabled paid apps for European customers, some users reported that they don't see paid apps anymore and for some users reports that the the number of available apps have dramatically decreased - to 60 available apps only. However, the webOS 1.4.1 patch should fix this problem and according to O2 Germany, the missing apps (paid and free) should be back within 24 - 48 hours after the patch was installed.
As always, Palm distributes the firmware update over the air and it should be downloaded automatically. However, the Palm Pre can also be forced to download and install it manually through Updates from the programs menu.
