While neither Motorola nor Sony Ericsson have announced any upcoming firmware updates for the Motorola Milestone and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, O2 Germany unveiled via Twitter today that it has approved two new ROMs for both Android smartphone. Furthermore, O2 followed-up that the ROM update for the Motorola Milestone is yet not the expected Android 2.2/Froyo upgrade but just a bugfix collection which is said to fix the alarm bug, music player and an automatic but unwanted device switch on. In terms of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, O2 hasn't given any further information other that it will be a maintenance release and not the awaited Android 2.1 upgrade.

According to O2 Germany, both manufactures will roll-out the firmware updates within the next 14 days. Even if yet not announced by Motorola or Sony Ericsson, it can be expected that these updates will hit other carriers/countries as well. However, there are no further information available.
