CANCELED: O2 Germany has no plans to launch the Xda Exec yet

This might be bad news for the one or the other German O2 customer and Windows Mobile fan but how Lutz Schüler (Member of the Board and responsible for Products and new services at O2 Germany) confirmed today during O2's press conference, O2 Germany has no plans today to launch the so called Xda Exec (HTC Universal) aka T-Mobile MDA Pro, T-Mobile Germany introduced earlier this month.

According to Mr. Schüler, O2 will continue to concentrate on smaller sized Xda Pocket PCs and Smartphones than on "mini laptop styled" devices.
While he left open if it might be launched later anyway, he definitely made clear that there are no plans to launch it now - together with the also presented Xda mini S (aka HTC Wizard) and Xda phone (aka HTC Tornado).

So if you are a German O2 customer and you want a Universal anyway, you either have to pick it up from T-Mobile (but with magenta branding and customization) or you can buy it from expansys as i-mate JASJAR (see my posting from yesterday).

Cheers ~ Arne
