CEBIT LIVE: BenQ-Siemens officially announced the P51 Pocket PC Phone Edition with GPS

BenQ Mobile, the new business division of the BenQ Corporation, presents at CeBIT 2006 in Hannover the new Windows Mobile 5.0 powered Pocket PC Phone Edition P51, the follower of the P50 which is a high-performance, versatile and compact Pocket PC Phone Edition based on the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system that integrates the latest high-end technology.
With comprehensive modern business features, the BenQ-Siemens P51 is the ideal communication tool for the professional user. Whether on the plane, on the train platform or at a business meeting – if you are on the road a great deal you will always have your office with you in the BenQ-Siemens P51.

Moreover, the Pocket PC Phone Edition always knows where to go thanks to the integrated GPS and optional onboard navigation solution. The QWERTY keypad and 2.8 inch touch-screen make data entry effortless. Bluetooth, USB and WLAN 802.11 b/g give you the great flexibility to connect to every network. Using the ergonomically shaped, optional Headset Bluetooth Comfort HHB-160/161, optimum sound quality is guaranteed in wireless handsfree speech. Once you have an online connection, you can even make phone calls via the Internet using Skype. The BenQ-Siemens P51's extensive multimedia equipment includes a 1,3 megapixel camera with video function, as well as a music player with equalizer and 3D sound. It is also possible to extend the BenQ-Siemens P51's range of functions even further using SDIO cards that simply plug into the slot provided for the purpose on the Pocket PC Phone Edition.



With the P51, BenQ Mobile expands its product portfolio towards high-end multimedia devices geared to demanding professional users. The BenQ-Siemens P51 will be available - as BenQ-Siemens confirmed - on the EMEA and Asian market in July 2006 in the color "Silver". Availability for North America wasn't announced yet and the BenQ-Siemens spokesman hasn't revealed any plans yet. Prices will be determined locally.
