CEBIT LIVE: Samsung SGH-I300 Windows Mobile Smartphone

I just came back from the Samsung stand where I spent plenty of time by playing with the Samsung SGH-I300 aka "Thor" and I have to admit I'm impressed. It's a pretty huge candybar design (as long as the HTC Magician aka i-mate JAM) but unlike the Magician it's running the Smartphone not Pocket PC Phone Edition Windows Mobile version.
Talking about the OS is a good keyword: Samsung locked it to the running Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, so you are not able to see which Windows Mobile version it is running but more important for me are the details like the navi-pad. This is a 5 way navi-pad as used by many Pocket PCs; however it's also a (mechanical) similar to the first iPod so you can scroll up/down through it or adjust the Media Player volume! Pretty cool and it works in parallel with the navi-pad!

Find more photos here at my Photoblog, live from CeBIT 2005.

Cheers ~ Arne

that's a really nice one and could compete with my iPOD mini 4GB... finally a phone that could replace my c500 AND iPOD... but we have to wait if/when the phone will be released and at which price.
