CEBIT LIVE: Vodafone Germany to carry a Windows Mobile Smartphone first time

Yesterday I got confirmed from Vodafone Germany, that they will really introduce their first Windows Mobile Smartphone after the successful launch of their previous Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and the announcement to continue with Windows Mobile by introducing the HTC Magician (aka VPA compact) and HTC Universal (aka VPA IV).
However, unlike reported before, Vodafone will not carry the Motorola MPx220 but the HTC Typhoon instead (which is already available as i-mate SP3i and Qtek 8020) which will be called Vodafone VPA.
A price wasn't given yet and availability was told with April/May. As you can see below, right now it's branded as the Qtek 8020 and Vodafone denied to answer if it will be a rebranded version and which customization the device will have.

Nevertheless, I got also confirmed, that other Vodafone shares outside Germany will introduce the Motorola MPx220 anyway but haven't received information in which countries we can expect it.

Cheers ~ Arne

I got this information while talking to our sales rep on CeBit, too.

It seems that Vodafone starts waking up from its winter sleep and starts listening to its business customers.

Vodafone is already selling Qtek smartphones for a long time - in New Zealand.
