Following
Vodafone's earlier announcement that Pieter Knook will join Vodafone later
this Spring, Microsoft yesterday announced a series of executive promotions -
seven new senior vice presidents and seven new corporate vice presidents -
reflective of the company’s commitment to build and maintain a strong and
dynamic management team across its unique portfolio of businesses. The seven
executives promoted to senior vice president are Chris Capossela, Kurt DelBene,
Antoine Leblond, Andy Lees, Satya Nadella, S. Somasegar and Bill Veghte. The
seven executives promoted to corporate vice president are Walid Abu-Habda
Walid Abu-Hadba, Brad
Brooks, Larry Cohen, Steve Guggenheimer, Scott Guthrie, Roz Ho and Brian Tobey.
Most interestingly might be the appointment of Andy Lees as the new Senior
Vice President for the (Windows) Mobile Communications Business. Previously
corporate vice president of the Server & Tools Marketing and Solutions Group,
Lees will oversee the development, marketing and sales of software and services
that power mobile devices for business and consumer customers worldwide. Lees
will fill the role previously held by Pieter Knook.
