CLARIFICATION: O2's Xda IIs, IIi and III naming and features

It seems to be time to clarify the one or the other thing about O2's recently announced Xda Pocket PC Phone Edition series devices:

First of all, the recently announced O2 Xda IIs (s = slider? aka HTC Blue Angel aka T-Mobile MDA III) will be called Xda IIs in UK and Ireland only. For Germany, o2 will follow the common naming conversion and here it is called o2 Xda III as well, as an o2 spokesman confirmed PPCW.Net. In addition, for the German market, the Xda III will also has a QWERTZ keyboard instead of the English QWERTY keyboard of the Xda IIs.

Second the features: Both recently announced devices, the new Blue Angel (Xda IIs/Xda III) as well as the Xda IIi (which will be called IIi in Germany as well) will have quad-band GSM/GPRS as well as Bluetooth and W-LAN (IEEE 802.11b) support.

Cheers ~ Arne

[1]  [2] You wont get it from O2 since O2 is operating in Europe in UK, Ireland and Germany only but you can either expect it from one of your local carriers or from 3rd parties like i-mate or Qtek.

Any plans of seeing this device in other countries like Belgium or Luxembourg?

We already have O2's XDA II, i-mate and Qtek 2020 equivalents here in Belgium and I'm looking forward to buy mine. I saw on some shopping sites the i-mate PDA2K (looks like this one here) but not the other ones.

[3] Yeah I doubt it...  T-Mobile in the states still thinks the MDA I is a cutting edge device...  sigh...

[8] CPU and camera features are correct - as announced earlier by O2. However, no word about a keyboard and also no photos available, so I think we have to wait a few more weeks to get more information.
