Ok, most sites haven't believed the::unwired's information, that the soon to be released O2 Xda Atom isn't from HTC but from Quanta, as we always said, so I want to make sure again: O2's Xda Atom is neither based nor manufactured by HTC but by Quanta (worlds largest ODM for Laptops). The rants you've might have heard about an HTC device called "Athena" being the O2 Xda Atom is simply wrong. Yes, there is an option to see an HTC Athena but this will be - if ever released - a completely different device as I've got it confirmed today.
For sure, HTC is planning on the next version of devices and "Athena" could be one option to be released (as all ODMs have many devices in development while not all will be released) but the Xda Atom "Athena" is from Quanta!
Okay, that's about all the Athenas, floating though the web. Also I got confirmed today, that the recently "leaked" T-Mobile MDA compact II isn't based on the Quanta Athena (aka O2 Xda Atom) but based on a different device, whatever it means. Haven't received more information yet since this project is still pretty confident but I got confirmed it's not the same device as the O2 Xda Atom. Rumors says, it's based on a so far unknown HTC device called "Charmer" as already posted by "PeterK". However, I've heard it will includes WiFi also, unlike "PeterK" has posted.
Any other questions? Hope it's clear now. :-)
Cheers ~ Arne
