There are quite a couple of E-Mail clients out there, including the on device preinstalled clients, but a new one, which wants to be even smarter is just around the corner. mailbe.at by Munich based ExB petitpetit doesn't wants to be just another E-Mail client, but wants to combine E-Mails, threads and conversations in a meaningful way. ExB has a lot of experience in this field, since it's working for ages now on petitpetit, a kind of GUI which combines user data, from calendar to contacts to E-Mails to photos in the same meaningful way as mailbe.at will do soon for E-Mails. The target is to "make E-Mail productivity on Android smartphones a reality".
Mailbe.at is said to becomes the best E-Mail app for organizing and writing E-Mails in a unique, intuitive way. Through intelligent, linguistic algorithms, your data gets cross-linked for a new communication experience.
Mailbe.at will come with a unified inbox which allows to to receive E-Mails from different accounts into one inbox. Smart Folders can be automatically filled based on searches or contacts and updates from different accounts and folders can be shown on a customizable screen. The intelligent search will allow to search in contacts, any related E-Mails, conversation topics, or any other text.
Mailbe.at is said to provide a better understanding from an E-Mail's topic by viewing other related E-Mails. The automatic organization by topic allows to view a cluster of E-Mails (this is not an E-Mail thread) based on a specific topic, independent of which contacts the E-Mails are from, conversations, or replies. Contextual calendar entries allows to create new calendar entries right inside mailbe.at, whenever the content of an E-Mail suggests a date and time while smart To-Do-List are generated from E-Mails that contain a type of list, like a shopping list E-Mailed by your wife becomes a new To-Do list.
But also composing an E-Mail is said to become a new and different experience. For instance when writing "Here are some pictures that I took yesterday in San Francisco.", mailbe.at will display these pictures and suggest that you add them as attachments. While the personal assistant helps to find the appropriate contact, for instance if you get an E-Mail where someone is asking for a solution to a tough problem. Mailbe.at will directly suggest which expert among your contacts, to forward the question to.
Mailbe.at is yet not available but said to be available from 15. November and is said to support English, German, Russian and Spanish. A price wasn't announced today.
