CommonTime, a leading provider of secure wireless E-Mail exclusively for enterprises running Lotus Notes, recently announced that it's mSuite 4 software will be compatible with Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile operating system. While Windows Mobile 6 features enhancements to E-Mail and improved versions of mobile versions of Outlook Mobile and Office Mobile, mSuite brings advanced Lotus Notes messaging with strongly Lotus-centric functions and operations to the Windows Mobile 6 smartphones. This means that features such as SameTime instant messaging and 'free time search' which are normally confined to the world of Lotus Notes will be available for Windows Mobile 6 smartphones as well.

The value here for CommonTime Enterprise customers, such as Rolex, Coca Cola Bottling, Salvation Army, Philips, Oxfam and other potential customers is that they can reduce the end-user learning curve, leverage existing Lotus skills and increase the speed of deployment. Largely due to familiarity with the look, feel and functionality of the technology which is strongly comparable with the Lotus Notes desktop experience.

"Wireless mail takes businesses onto the first step of mobility. To reap real productivity benefits, and to mitigate risks, enterprises need to efficiently deploy, secure, and manage both mail and applications for remote workers anytime, anyplace. The combination of Palm devices, Windows Mobile 6 and mSuite, from CommonTime, provides the perfect mobility solution, and is critical to ensuring wireless project success now, and in the future" says Martin Day, Head of Enterprise Sales EMEA for Palm Europe

It's not yet clear or announced, if CommonTime's prosumer version called mNotes, will also support Windows Mobile 6 or not. In any case, CommonTime is the only working solution to get Lotus Notes in contact with Windows Mobile devices.
