PC World reports that Huawei will indeed launch the recently approved Ideos U8150 Android smartphone not later than next week during the IFA in Berlin. According to PC World, Huawei confirmed this via an E-Mail which confirmed further details. While we already knew that the U8150 was expected to support GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as quadband UMTS/HSDPA at 850/1700/1900/2100 MHz, it's now also confirmed by Huawei, that the U8150 will be powered by a 528 MHz CPU, is running Android 2.2 and that the QVGA 2.8" touchscreen is capacitive instead of the previously used resistive screen technology. Also confirmed now are the 3.2 megapixel camera and GPS as well as WiFi b/g/n.
Neither any carrier nor Huawei has announced when the phone will start shipping or what it will cost; Huawei only said that the price "will be very attractive".
