Microsoft is still continuing to bring its different products closer together and following Xbox SmartGlass, Microsoft has now released Office Remote for Windows Phone. Office Remote turns a Windows Phone into a smart remote that interacts with Microsoft Office. The app allows to control Word, Excel and PowerPoint from across the room. With Office Remote, it's possible to start a PowerPoint presentation, advance the slides, see speaker notes and even control an on-screen laser pointer - all from a Windows Phone. It's even possible to navigate between Excel worksheets and graphs, control data slicers from the palm of the hand and Office Remote allows to conveniently scroll through a Word document or quickly jump to specific sections or comments.

Office Remote for Windows Phone requires Microsoft Office 2013. Unfortunately is Microsoft not supporting Office 2013 RT, as it is preinstalled on Microsoft's Surface RT tablet; also not supported are any earlier versions of Microsoft Office. Other requirements are a Bluetooth connection between the Windows Phone and Windows PC as well as the desktop add-in for Office Remote which must be installed on the PC

Cheers ~ Arne
