After Orange's introduction of the C500 (HTC Typhoon) two weeks ago in UK, Orange France followed now with their announcement to introduce therecently announced Sagem myS-7:
The sleek, lightweight Smartphone with tri-band GSM/GPRS technology has been designed for professional and personal entertainment use. The myS-7 enables customers to manage personal information and synchronize their e-mail, calendar and contacts with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 either via a PC connection or via seamless over-the-air synchronization with Microsoft Exchange Server.
Further to these innovative features, the myS-7 is a comfortable handset that enjoys a large, high-resolution 65,536-color screen, and two rich polyphonic speakers that allow the user to listen to Microsoft Windows Media Audio and MP3 music files. Its wide range of applications and memory capabilities (easy access to expandable memory via an SD or MMC card) allow the user to store and play an extensive amount of music and mobile video files. The myS-7 also offers the possibility to personalize original ring tones and home screens, while downloading exciting new and highly advanced 3-D games over the air.
However, it should be mentioned that the myS-7 doesn't includes Bluetooth which might be important for connected users.
On Orange's French website no price nor a release date is given but if it already appears there, it shouldn't take that long anymore and it can be estimated that this phone will be released in other Orange countries soon as well.
That's definitely great news for Smartphone enthusiasts in France (and maybe soon other Orange countries) and will definitely helps to boost the Windows Mobile platform.
I'm still waiting to receive my promised review unit... ;-(
Cheers ~ Arne
