During CeBIT in Hannover, French Sagem officially announced its first candybar styled Microsoft Smartphone 2003, which was already rumored for some weeks now.

Overall, it's nothing special and while it misses Bluetooth, it includes a camera (which seems to become a standard now):

  • High quality accessible design
  • Triple Band, GPRS
  • Microsoft Smartphone 2003 OS
  • Intel X-Scale 200 MHz CPU 32MB ROM/32MB SDRAM
  • Camera (CMOS VGA) with Video support (MPEG4)
  • Color screen (176x220, 65k TFT)
  • Java MIDP 2.0 support
  • MMS, WAP 2.0, MP3 and WMA ringtones
  • Data/Fax modem, USB connection, SD Slot
  • No Bluetooth

Overall, it seems to be a great mass market device - if Sagem sets the correct price point for it. A price or release date wasn't announced.

Cheers ~ Arne

I think Sagem made a big mistake by not inlcuding BT in its device.

Same with me. Bluetooth should be a standard in mobile phones.

i have to admit that i like the design of it, but no BT and i heard a price of around €600-€700 is to much for that phone... but anyway: mpx100 here i come... wink

I have a Nokia 7650 WITH BT for 1.5 years now. It is dissappointing to see that these phones add nothing extra. I will wait for phone with BT and with a better camera than 640x480. Only then I will switch to Microsoft.
