While Windows Phone has a pretty decent integration of Facebook into its Peoples hub, nothing compares to a stand-alone applications which has often far more features than such a tight integration. And finally, Facebook has updated its Facebook for Windows Phone which comes with a couple of improvements and enhancements. First of all, Facebook v2.3 for Windows Phone focuses on news feed performance improvements but it also brings a more Metro look and feel panorama design which also includes a new profile design. It is now also showing banner images and provides access to pages, groups, feed filters and finally allows to show "likes".
Furthermore it provides access to posting privacy and contains a couple of bug fixes. However, not part of Facebook's latest Windows Phone update are its timeline view, Facebook just made a mandatory setting but it's showing a timeline in a more traditional and old way as well as Facebook chat.
The Facebook for Windows Phone update is now available free of charge from Microsoft's Marketplace
