Following the trend to release non-silver colored Pocket PCs anymore - started by O2 with the introduction of the black Xda III/IIs (HTC Alpine) and continued by O2 Germany with the anthracite Xda mini (HTC Magician) - some time ago, Qtek announced the introduction of the Qtek S110 which is an upgraded HTC Magician with 128 MB RAM (instead of the original 64 MB) and an anthracite cover.
Now also i-mate followed with today's announcement to carry an upgraded i-mate JAM with anthracite cover as Geekzone reports:

Following on from the world wide success of the original, this new limited edition device comes with all the Windows Mobile features of the i-mate JAM, plus twice as much built in memory at 128MB RAM, CA Anti-virus software, Skype internet telephony software, exclusive access to the club i-mate web portal, free 24 month extended global warranty, and a free 500MB SD card.

The new i-mate JAM retains the same design and compact dimensions of the original, but comes in a distinguished charcoal color.

The original i-mate JAM will continue to be available in a silver color.

The General Manager of i-mate Australasia, Mr. Ben Hodgson said, "I've no doubt this beefed up new i-mate JAM will continue the phenomenal success of the original. It really is the perfect combination of beauty & brains. This superb product will be the mark of distinction of the discerning mobile phone buyer".

A limited quantity of the new charcoal i-mate JAM will be available online, or in stores, from mid August 2005.

Looks good, basically looks like my Xda mini which I love, color-wise and is even nicer since it has doubled memory. Right now, I'm not sure if this limited special edition will be released in Australia only or in other countries also. However, I can confirm I'm not going to sell it.

Cheers ~ Arne
