Google personalized homepage, Google's previously introduced Beta project to give you a customizable start-page for your Web browser, finally got the support for RSS feeds also.
Now you can add your own news sources to your Google home to enhance it with the information you are interested in (before Google served pre-defined news-sources only as well as an interface to Google mail plus a weather forecast.

To add your own RSS feeds, click "Add content" on the left upper corner and select "Create a Section". In the following form field you have to add the URL of the RSS feed you want to add, like "http://www.theunwired.net/xml-rss.php" if you want to add the::unwired newsfeed. ;-)

Now you get the new RSS feed served on your Google personalized homepage:

Google's RSS feed integration isn't half that good as current Bloglines or NewsGator integration but it's an all in one solution since it also gives you access to your Google Gmail account as well as to other news and therefore it's not that bad, especially since it is still Beta. Unfortunately you can not import your news feeds yet which means you have to add all your feeds one by one, for me not acceptable since I have more than 50+ feeds. Anyway, at least the RSS support has started.

Cheers ~ Arne
