Right after yesterday's Windows release of Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone and Windows 8.1, Microsoft has now also released the gaming console companion app for Android and iOS. Like the Xbox One SmartGlass app for Windows, the Android and iOS version connects to and controls the Xbox One to allow staying connected with content, games and gamer friends. Within the living room, Xbox One SmartGlass allows to navigate a Xbox One console using the device's keyboard and touch, to control media and connected set-top box with the SmartGlass remote control, browse the web on the big screen living room TV using the mobile device and and enhancing what is watched or played with SmartGlass companions.
In the living room or on the go, Xbox One SmartGlass allows to search, browse and pin content to play on the Xbox One console as well as track achievements, get game help, message friends and watch game DVR clips.
This app requires an Xbox membership to sign in. It's now available for most Android 4.0+ smartphones, with WVGA screen resolution or higher, plus 7" and 10" Tablets.
Cheers ~ Arne
