The recently released PPCW.Net i-Mate ROM update doesn't includes only a more stable Smartphone OS but also includes some important SMS improvements.

Overall that OS version works more stable now and doesn't freeze that often as before. Also it is much faster but another improvement which shouldn't be missed are the SMS enhancements:

In your Inbox you can select from all available contact's phone numbers and E-Mail addresses now and not from the mobile number only anymore like before:

This means that you can send your SMS to fixed line numbers as well (yes, this is possible but depends if your carrier offers this feature) and you can also send an SMS to the car phone number (which is often used for a second mobile phone number - for instance if a contact has two mobile phones: one for business and one for private use).

As before the PPCW-Net i-Mate ROM includes the SMS character counter but you don't need any workaround anymore to start it up.

It automatically appears if you select a phone number (doesn't matter which one) and you don't have to enter a "ghost" number into Cc: anymore to get it appearing! So now Inbox works much more like other known SMS applications! :-D

Overall, this ROM update is a major improvement for the PPCW.Net i-Mate as it makes the Smartphones faster and more stable as well as it features more functionalities.

As before, the ROM update also includes IA Styles IA Album (which isn't changed from the previous version) and is using EZOS' EzWAP MMS client (in a new and more stable build as well).

Cheers ~ Arne
