Do you remember when we spotted the European LTE version of the HTC Velocity some weeks ago? As the German Vodafone press department now confirmed, Vodafone Germany is planning to launch HTC's first LTE smartphone in Germany (and most likely other European countries) soon. Running on Android 2.3/Gingerbread, the HTC Velocity is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU and supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz as well as dualband LTE at 800/2600 MHz, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n and aGPS. The Velocity features a 4.5" qHD touchscreen and sports a 8 megapixel autofocus 1080p HD camera on the back and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera.

Vodafone's Velocity, which comes in shiny white with a silver battery cover, has 1 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory which can be expanded with microSD memory cards up to 32 GB. The micro USB port supports MHL-HDMI out and the battery has a capacity of 1620 mAh.

A price or launch date was not yet announced but Vodafone Germany, HTC and Qualcomm have invited for a press conference next week, so it's most likely that the Vodafone HTC Velocity 4G will be made official then.

Cheers ~ Arne
