Andy Rubin, co-founder and former CEO of Android Inc. and today Senior Vice President of Mobile at Google unveiled via Google+ that "there are now over 700,000 Android devices activated every day" and continued in a second posting that "Google counts each device only once" (i.e., they don't count re-sold devices), and "'activations' means a customer goes into a store, buy a device and put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service". That's an impressive amount of devices, activated each day! However, his second posting makes wonder if Google isn't counting non-WWAN devices like WiFi-only tablets and unfortunately he hasn't answered this question.

Anyway, doesn't matter if Google is counting WWAN devices only or not, it's an impressive growth because back in June, Rubin was talking about 500,000 device activations per day.
