GROWTH: Google counts over 900,000 Android Device Activations - per Day

Yesterday evening, Mr Android himself - Andy Rubin - confirmed, that Google is now counting over 900,000 new Android device activations - per day! And these are new activations, not re-activations after a firmware update or factory reset, as Rubin confirmed with an earlier message, where he explained that "Google counts each device only once" and "activations means a customer goes into a store, buy a device and put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service". That's indeed an impressive growth; back in December Rubin said that Google is counting 700,000 daily activations and back in June last year, Google counted 500,000 activations per day. This means that Google has nearly doubled the activations within one year!

Furthermore, Rubin said he has no plans to leave Google, rumors made the round across the Internet before.

Cheers ~ Arne
