I've been following your web site’s coverage of Pocket PC hardware and wireless. I’m pleased to contribute a bit of news.

Our company has just introduced several Pocket PC-based systems for the healthcare industry. In brief, we expand the capabilities of the pervasive stethoscope by adding mobile computing power. Our system records heart and lung sounds on the Pocket PC, replays them, displays the sound waveforms (time and frequency domains) and automatically analyses the sounds for key features (wheezes, crackles, etc). We are the only system approved by the FDA for these clinical uses. Recently the National Institute of Health awarded our company a research grant for clinical investigation of new uses of our system.

Our system has been successfully tested with the new Verizon Thera mobile phone/Pocket PC. We believe that this device, with our software, will provide exciting new capabilities to physicians and nurses.
