While Google is yet not giving Windows Phone 7 too much love except is release of very basic Google Search application, today there's no other Google app or service available for Windows Phone 7. And while Windows Phone 7 comes with Microsoft's Bing Maps preinstalled, you might want to use Google Maps on Windows Phone 7 instead? Well, TechAutos came up yesterday with a first but yet very basic Google Maps Mobile version for Windows Phone 7! As the developers mention, it's meant as a temporary solution until Google releases its official app and it's still missing lots of important features like POI search, favorites, etc., but some users might find it useful even in its current shape.

What it definitively needs is address and point-of-interest search, directions, favorites and maybe even Google's satellite view but the overall look and feel is pretty good and really mixes Google Maps Mobile with the Windows Phone 7 user interface! That's exactly how an official Google Maps Mobile application for Windows Phone 7 could/might/should look like.
The downside is that TA Maps isn't available from the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace and therefore it must be side-loaded which requires an unlocked Windows Phone 7 (we reported about earlier). However, TechAutos explains on their site how to bring their TA Maps to a Windows Phone 7 smartphone.
