HONOR: PPCW.Net recommended by Microsoft's Windows Mobile site

Normally I don't like this "I was recommended here and linked there" game but I take these days off from regular work to scrawl a little bit though the web to check out pages I haven't checked for longer time because I was too busy during the past months. :-( One of the sites I've visited in depth was Microsoft's previous "PocketPC.com" which is its Windows Mobile site now. If you are a long time reader of PPCW.Net, you might remember that I was a contributing author for Microsoft's PocketPC.com, when it was launched on April 19, 2000 - together with the introduction of the first Pocket PC series.

A lot of things happened since these early Pocket PC days, we (we were a couple of international contributors) are not contributing anymore (it was my first official contact with Microsoft, by the way) but they have also redesigned and rearranged the the complete site and one area is called Pocket PC and Smartphone Community which also includes a great link section. And there - PPCW.Net is highlighted in both sections - Pocket PC and Smartphone - together with a couple of other fine sites:

PPCW.net - Visit an informative, up-to-date site that covers Pocket PCs and Smartphones, too.

Well, it makes me always proud to see PPCW.Net is linked from other sites - but being liked from the microsoft.com domain might be the greatest... ;-) Might be... ;-) However, at least it shows me that also serious companies like Microsoft honors the work we are doing here day in, day out.

Cheers ~ Arne

Congrats!

By the way: how "PPCW.Net" relates to "Smartphone"? Have you considered to get a new domain name that would cover both PocketPC (PPC) and Smartphone (SP)?

In 2-3 years MS Smartphones will constitute over 80% of all Windows Mobile devices and name "PPC" will mean nothing to most users then...

Who cares? "PPCW.Net" is an acronym today and a synonym for wireless! It's not related anymore to Pocket PC but to all around wireless with Pocket PC and Smartphone!

PPCW.Net is the same like ZDNet - who cares that it was Ziff Davis? It's ZDNet today, not more not less. Same for PPCW.Net; you got it? And it doesn't becomes any hotter topic if you ask it every quarter again!

I don't care it it is PPCW or SMPW or whatever - PPCW is well known and respected for its content, not for its domain name and what it meant a couple of years ago!
