I'm surprised that I haven't received a technet update about this yet.  normally they send them out to correspond to a sec patch like this.

I got it directly from my Microsoft contacts and they asked to spread it as soon as possible. So I'm sure we received the information just in the minute it became available and MSFT will send the notification now. But I'm sure they have to send a lot of E-Mails and co-distribution by well known and frequently visited web sites might make sense!

However, after applying this patch you can no longer use user name passwords in the address fields.  ie. http://me:you@www.somewhere... I have been trying to find the location of this in the registry but have not had much luck.  Is anyone else seeing this and do you know where in the registry I can find this option and turn it back on.

[3] Has anyone applied this patch successfully? It is supposed to have been installed ok on mine but each time I reboot Windows Update pops up with the message "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB867801)" is ready for download. According to Windows Update.log some parts haven't been successful. Microsoft are being innundated with complaints about the problem. Seems to be a proper cock up.
