IMPROVED: Google updates Chromecast for Android App - Makes Configuration Easier

Are you one of the owners and users of Google Chromecast HDMI stick and use with your Android smartphone or tablet? If so, you should check out the recently updated Chromecast Android app. Not that it became anything more useful, it's still the configuration app for the Chromecast HDMI stick, which allows to enjoy online video and anything from the web on your TV by plugging it into any HDTV. And as said, the Android companion app is the one to set up the Chromecast to work with a WiFi network and manage the Chromecast settings (such as changing the device name, WiFi password, etc.). However, the recent update is easing navigation, improves time zone display, displays the Chromecast MAC address and fixes a crash when launching device settings screen.

Again, it's still only the companion app which helps you to configure your Chromecast but every improvement is appreciated and excepted. At least it's showing that Google is still working on Chromecast and that it didn't became a DOA (yet) as Google TV.

Cheers ~ Arne
