As mentioned some days ago, Spb Software House finaly announced the release of Spb Full Screen Keyboard - a unique text input software for Pocket PC.

Unlike many software input methods Spb Full Screen Keyboard covers entire screen area and has keys that are large enough to be typed with finger-tips, not with a stylus.
It is very handy for entering large amounts of text - as you type, the text is being entered into an edit box where it can be selected, deleted or modified. Spb Full Screen Keyboard also features a close interaction with other Pocket PC programs. It runs as an input method in Soft Input Panel (SIP), Pocket PC native technique for entering text. It is also very easy to modify existing text with it - all you have to do is select a part of text in any Pocket PC application and call Full Screen Keyboard - it will appear with selected text being already in its edit box.

Another key point of Spb Full Screen Keyboard is customization and localization. It supports so-called 'skins' - special images defining keys look and layout. Spb Full Screen Keyboard can be adapted to different languages with use of skins. The software also supports gestures, special stylus actions that ease input of uppercase letters, digits, and special symbols as well as input editing.

Features

  • Full screen layout
  • Large keys that can be pressed with fingers
  • Integration with any Pocket PC applications
  • Automatically edits selected text
  • 'Skins' and national layouts support
  • Gestures for entering upper-case letters, spaces, special characters and editing
  • Hardware button can be assigned for switching between Full Screen Keyboard and other input methods
  • Ideal input method for entering large texts

Most interesting it is for me to be used with SMS on Wireless Pocket PCs like the o2 xda. With that keyboard you can enter SMS in a more convenient way without the stylus, directly by typing the text with your thumbs on the screen:

Spb Full Screen Keyboard 1.0 is available for US$ 9,95 from PocketGear.com. A trial version is available too.

Cheers ~ Arne
