Darius Wey over at Pocket PC Thoughts got some information from i-mate when he walked the floors of MEDC in Sydney this week.
According to him and his talks to a reliable source, he discovered that i-mate has plans to release an HTC Universal under its own i-mate brand name (for sure).
"Paragon" added in the Pocket PC comments section, that - according to Jim Morrison - CEO of Carrier Devices (the company behind i-mate) - it will be officially be launched on September 24th at GITEX exhibition in Dubai which could be reasonable since i-mate announced most or their new devices during the past GITEX exhibitions.

So far it's just a rumor and therefore there is no end-user price given nor a confirmed release date but yes - IMHO it makes sense. Okay, anyway - September 24th still gives us some time to keep our money together since I'm sure - the HTC Universal will become the most expensive Pocket PC Phone Edition we have seen so far.

Cheers ~ Arne
