Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of the Samsung Omnia 7/GT-I8700; Samsung's first smartphone which will be launched with Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system. The Samsung Omnia 7 features a 4" Super AMOLED touch screen, a 1 GHz application processor, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with HD recording and all this is packed into a sleek, slimline design with metallic finish. The device offers an exceptional entertainment experience directly on your mobile with a range of Microsoft services as Xbox LIVE gaming and Zune for music and video.
Additional unique Samsung features on the Omnia 7 include:
- Now Hub – a News, Weather and Stocks service powered by Reuters
- Enhanced Camera experience with simple & quick photo sharing to multiple Social Networking sites.
Windows Phone 7 means Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE and Zune are available directly on the Samsung Omnia 7. An extensive line up of gaming titles is available from Xbox LIVE at launch, while Zune offers a host of video and music content that can be downloaded direct. The Omnia 7 works with your PC to automatically synch content so that music and videos can be enjoyed anywhere.
Samsung Omnia 7 features the intuitive, dynamic user interface of Windows Phone 7 with Hubs that help to organise information and simplify tasks. The device boasts a customizable Start Screen with "Live Tiles" that display updated content instead of generic icons. Real time updates will bring content from the web, news, appointments, or social media status updates directly to the home screen. Hubs for People, Pictures, Office, Marketplace, Games, and Music & Video ensure that all your content is exactly where you want it.
The Samsung Omnia 7 will be available across Europe during the final quarter of 2010.
