How Engadget reports today, Cingular plans to launch two new Palm Treo smartphones. While the upcoming Palm Treos are only known by codenames yet, Engadet got at least some specs.
The Palm Treo "Lennon" is expected to work with Windows Mobile 2005 and includes the MSFP. As expected, this Treo supports UMTS and even Class 10 EDGE as well as a 1.3 megapixel camera and it's expected to support (hopefully) built-in W-LAN as well as Bluetooth
It's also expected, that these two new Treos won't have an external antenna anymore but sporting a new design and form factor instead.

Availability of the upcoming Palm Lennon and Nitro (the Palm OS-based device) is expected in October.
For sure, there was no pricing giving yet. Also open is the question if this UMTS-Palm Treo will also works in European/Asian UMTS Networks (2100 MHz) or if Palm will supports the U.S. UMTS standard (850/1900 MHz) only, as used by Cingular. In best case, the device would be a quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS device, as HTC's recently announced TyTN

Cheers ~ Arne
